The Center For Internships & Service-Learning (CISL)
The Center for Internships & Service-Learning (CISL) operates
under Academic Affairs at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF)
to promote and facilitate high quality experiential learning.
Through local, national, and international academic internships and
service-learning experiences, CISL supports student learning that
both inspires and transforms. The Center helps students and
faculty identify meaningful placement sites. It supports faculty
and departments by providing technical assistance to those with internship
and service-learning courses. The Center offers training to
community partners (businesses, nonprofits and public/government agencies)
in the development of high quality academic internship and service-learning
opportunities. CISL assists students in finding quality placements
and ensures an understanding of expectations by all parties involved.
WINDOW-ON-THE-WORLD
REFLECTIONS CONTEST (DUE APRIL 27, 2008)
Service opens a window onto the world and into the self. Tell us the
story of what you saw when you looked at the life of the community
through the window of service. What did you give and what were you
given in return? What hidden parts of yourself have been opened up
to the world? How do you believe this new knowledge of the world and
of the self will influence your personal, professional, and public
life?
Your
reflection can be anything you want -- a poem, an essay (250-270 words),
song lyrics, drawings, photographs -- it's all about how you best
express your service-learning experiences. <more
