At Jumpstart, we pair motivated CSUF students, called Corps members, with preschool children in caring and supportive one-to-one relationships to build language, literacy, and social skills.
Project SHINE links college students with immigrants over the age of 50 who seek to learn English as a second language, increase their participation in the community and/or wish to become U.S. citizens. As part of a service-learning course or as volunteers, the college students are linked to elder learners that take ESL and Citizenship courses at different community sites.
