Mission
Statement
The
Center for Internships & Service-Learning (CISL) is the administrative hub
for the campus internship and service-learning programs, promoting and
facilitating high quality experiential learning. The CISL office supports
students and faculty in identifying and or developing appropriate placement
sites for internship and service-learning courses. The office also
supports community partners (businesses, non-profits and public/government
agencies) in finding the most appropriate students to serve as interns and
service-learners in their organizations.

industry, government or the non-profit sector you can sharpen your skills,
begin a network of professional contacts, assess your strengths, and test your
classroom theories in real world settings. There will never be a better time in
your life to explore the wide range of experiences available. The Center for
Internships & Service-Learning and the University's academic internship and
service-learning courses offer you the opportunity to formally integrate
academic studies with practical professional experience prior to completing
your degree.

student learning in higher education. Internships are planned, jointly
supervised, work-integrated learning experiences combined with reflective,
academic study that help student "learn by doing." The Center for Internships
& Service-Learning works with your organization to promote your internship
opportunities and provide you with pre-screened, approved candidates.
